Have a warm and inviting space for the colder months
Winter Wonderland
Winter is a wonderful time to enjoy the comfort of a well designed garden room. With thoughtful construction, quality materials and the right heating solution, your garden room becomes a warm and welcoming retreat throughout the festive season and beyond.
Warm in winter by design
A common question we hear is whether garden rooms are warm enough for winter. The simple answer is yes they are. Our buildings are crafted with two layers of insulation that work together to reduce heat loss and maintain a steady indoor temperature. This layered approach helps keep the space warm in winter and pleasantly cool in summer, making your garden room a genuine all year round feature.
Not Just a garden room, it's an extension of your home
We only include premium Insulation
Our buildings are crafted with a carefully developed insulation system that has been refined through many years of research.
We fill our steel panels with mineral wool that sits securely between the steel frame. This provides excellent thermal performance while also supporting strength and stability. To enhance this further, we add a solid PIR insulation board to the floor, walls and roof. The roof itself is insulated both externally and internally, helping to reduce heat loss and maintain a consistent indoor temperature even on very cold days.
All our insulation materials are A1 rated and fully non combustible. Combined with our non combustible core and build materials, this creates a safe, durable and exceptionally thermally efficient structure that performs beautifully throughout the year.
Smart heating for perfect comfort
To enhance this, we add a thermostatic smart heater as standard to all our garden rooms and annexes. This is an ideal addition during the colder months because it allows you to set and maintain the perfect temperature with ease. You can set the temperature with your smart phone or Alexa device and even run routines to boost heating at specific times. Not only that, the glass fronted heaters look fantastic.
A festive space for family and friends
Winter often brings opportunities to gather with loved ones. A garden room offers a unique and inviting setting for festive entertaining. You can welcome family and friends into a warm and stylish space that feels special yet relaxed. It is perfect for seasonal drinks, a quiet Boxing Day escape or simply enjoying time together surrounded by the calm of your garden.
What is the difference between a summerhouse and a garden room in winter
During winter there is a clear difference between a traditional summerhouse and a modern garden room.
A summerhouse is generally designed for light seasonal use. It often has thin timber walls with little or no insulation, basic glazing and no integrated heating. As a result, a summerhouse can feel cold, draughty and difficult to warm up during the colder months.
A garden room, on the other hand, is built to the standard of a modern room in your home. With layered insulation, strong structural materials, high quality glazing and smart heating, it is created for comfortable all year round use. This means you can enjoy a garden room throughout winter in complete comfort, something a summerhouse simply is not designed to provide.
Get that much needed extra space
If you need extra space for friends and family to stay over the festive season, moving home is not the only option. Adding a garden room or annex to your garden can provide the additional space you need without the hassle of relocating. A well designed garden room offers a comfortable and stylish area for guests to stay, while also serving as a versatile space for work, hobbies or relaxation throughout the year. It is a practical way to expand your home and make the most of your outdoor space, even during the colder months.
Practicle advice
Adding a dedicated path to your garden room not only creates a clear and safe route between the house and the garden space, it also enhances the overall aesthetic of your outdoor area. Consider installing smart controlled lights along the path to guide the way during darker winter evenings. This ensures your garden room is easily accessible for guests and family, while also creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that complements the comfort of your new space.
