FAQ's
We build all our garden bars from high-quality steel with your choice of cladding. This means your garden bar will not only be durable and secure but well insulated, meaning you can use it no matter what the weather is like.
Browse online to find out more about the materials our bars are made of.
As an outdoor bar will contain many expensive things, like bottles of alcohol, you’ll want to make sure it’s protected.
Our garden bars are strong and solid, meaning they are more resistant to break-ins.
You can add an extra element of security by building your outdoor bar close to your house and keeping your expensive equipment out of sight when not in use. Remember to extend your home insurance to cover your garden bar too.
If you’re planning to install a small outdoor bar, you typically don’t need to get planning permission.
However, there are exceptions to the rule.
If your garden bar is over a certain height or size, you’ll need planning permission. You’ll also need planning permission if you live in a listed building or conservation area.
Finally, you’ll need planning permission if your garden bar will also be used as self-contained accommodation (although the occasional nightly campout should be fine).
We recommend getting in touch with your local council. They will be happy to let you know if you will need planning permission or not or let our in-house planning consultant assist you with any planning permissions applications you require for your perfect garden bar
We’re often asked this question by our customers – here are some of our top tips for making sure you put your garden bar in the perfect spot!
Firstly, put your outdoor bar somewhere that is easy to get to. You don’t want to be walking over plants, rocks and mud, especially if you’ve had a few cocktails or need to get to your kitchen to restock!
Secondly, put your garden bar somewhere the ground is level and flat, with plenty of drainage. Otherwise, you may need to pay someone to level the ground when it is time to install it.
Thirdly, consider your neighbours. If you’re planning a few late nights in your garden bar, you don’t want to disturb them.
Fourth, consider where the light and sun will hit your outdoor bar. If you want to make the most of the sun while enjoying a drink, install your pub to face south or west.
A garden bar wouldn’t be the same without a bit of music. If you’re planning to have a bit of a party, here’s how you can get sounds playing in your bar.
If you have a digital radio or smart speaker you want to plug in, you’ll need to install electrics in your outdoor bar. Our certified electricians will do this for you as standard.
Alternatively, if you have a wireless music player, just charge it up in your house and bring it over to your bar when you need it.
If you’re streaming your favourite albums, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi signal. Wi-Fi signals in gardens can be patchy, just as the walls and doors of your house will partially block the signal.
As standard we will install a CAT6 cable for your internet so you can steam to your garden bar with ease.
Yes you can! If you like listening to Spotify or watching Netflix while working out, extending the Wi-Fi to reach your outdoor garden gym is a must.
Your Wi-Fi signal will not be as strong in the gym as it is in your home as your walls and door block the signal.
This is why we run an external armoured CAT 6 data cable to your garden room so there are no disruption to your internet access.
