Home gym

Are you looking for your very own custom space to exercise in? A home gym may be the answer.

Whether it’s cardio, weights or endurance training, a home gym in the comfort of your own garden space is the perfect choice.

We all know how important it is to have a regular exercise routine to keep us strong, fit and healthy. While joining a gym is a great choice for some, we often lack the motivation to go use the machines. When you’re tired and sat at home, you don’t fancy a twenty-minute drive to go on the free weights!

Alternatively, we don’t want to disturb the rest of the family with a gym in the garage or the home!

With a home gym, you can train any time you want. Just walk into your garden, and you’re ready to exercise in your own personal gym space!

Plus, as you can fill your garden gym space with the gym equipment you like the most, you can enjoy a training session that’s as unique as you are.

We specialise in building the best home gyms for customers all across the UK, with the highest reviews.

When you choose us to design and install your custom home gym space, you’re guaranteed a high-quality exercise and fitness space to call your own.

Plus, as our home gyms are fully weatherproof, you get a exercise space that you and your family can train in during the coldest winter and hottest summers.

FAQ's

Anything you want! The great thing about a home gym is that it’s extremely flexible, so you can have anything you need to train in it.

Some popular choices for a home gym include:

  • Strength training machines and weights
  • Cardio machines (for example, NordicTrack)
  • Freeform equipment like resistance bands, kettlebells or dumbbells
  • Yoga or ballet equipment

It’s entirely personal preference! No matter what your workout plans are, you can create the perfect gym space.

If you need some inspiration we’d be happy to show you some of the home gyms we’ve built and the gym equipment they contain.

Training in the garage can be noisy, so a home gym is ideal if you don’t want to disturb the rest of the household.

Plus, as you decide the shape and size of your home gym, it can be as large or as compact as you like! Perfect if you have a lot of gym equipment to store.

It’s important to put your home gym on the right site to ensure it’s easy to get to and you don’t disturb the neighbours! Here are our top tips.

Try and ensure you have a flat and level space to place your gym; otherwise you may need to level out some space before we can install it.

Consider where your home gym site will be in location to the sun. For example, if you like to exercise in the morning, an east-facing gym will give you some sun to boost your mood. (We recommend a bi-fold door to make the most of the sunrise!)

Make sure you can get to your gym easily, especially in dark and cold weather. Installing outdoor lighting can make it easier to get to your gym equipment at night.

Most of the time, no. A home gym comes under what is known as a ‘permitted development’, which doesn’t require planning permission.

However, there may be some circumstances where you need planning permission before your home gym is installed. For example, if your gym is over a particular height or size, is too close to the boundary of your garden, or you live in a conservation area.

We advise contacting your local council to see if your home gym needs planning permission. Remember that we provide home gyms in many shapes and sizes.

It ultimately depends on the size of your garden space, as well as the gym equipment and machines you want to move into your brand-new home gym.

The best way to do this is to get measurements for the machines you own. You can then plan your gym layout and determine how much space you need.

Don’t forget to factor in the space between your machines and equipment; you don’t want to be climbing over your cardio machines to get to your kettlebells! You’ll also need additional space to store your gym equipment when it’s not in use.

If space is tight, don’t worry. We can still build a compact home gym space that you can fit your workout equipment in.

Yes, you can! Many of our customers store gym equipment like weights or a NordicTrack in their home office so they can exercise on their lunch break or at the end of the working day. When time is tight between meetings, a five-minute cardio session can work wonders for your mood!

You can create a hybrid home office/gym layout that’s personal to your needs and bespoke to your budget. If you’re considering a more advanced and versatile layout, we’d love to help!
